"Decent
work" means work where people can have their say and receive a
decent wage, where occupational safety and health standards are
respected, where people enjoy social security and are not
discriminated against. The portal "decent work Worldwide"
aims to inform and mobilise everyone committed to, and interested in,
decent work. The portal offers essential information and examples of
good practice, and it also opens up opportunities for getting
involved -- where you live, and all over the world.

answer does not lie in "any sort of work, under any kind of
condition, with wages of any sort", says Ms. Wieczorek-Zeul. "We
want employment that respects human rights, core labour standards and
other social standards. In short, we want decent work worldwide!"

like the WTO, and the whole of the UN, then we cannot simply delegate
to Brussels, Geneva, Paris or Washington. We have to become involved
personally."
